Frapper!

I haven't spent too much time with Frappr, but it seems like these guys are on to something. There are plenty of sites that will allow you to geo-code your data (tie a geographic location to your data). These guys utilize the google map engine to do locational stuff.

Anyway, if your interested... add your self to the gtown frapper map. Check out the right side of the page and you can add a 'push pin' to our map.

All of this is made possible thanks to the good people at google who released an API for google maps. In turn a lot of people have been taking advantage of this to build cool web services. If I had any progaming knowledge or tallent I'd love to create something like this. I'm guessing in a few years these types of services will replace many main stream GIS software programs.

  1. Nice! I think there's a lot of myspace types of things you can do on Frapper as well... like set up your own profile page and link to other peoples pages... but its all tied in with a geographic location.

  2. The great service, naturally, assume the the US is the only country in the wrold, leaving us poor Euro's living among the 'here be dragons' part of the world.

  3. You can't add a point? That sucks, I wanted you to expand our map to include Europe. Are you sure?
