Two Kick Ass Firefox Add ons!

It's been a while since I've looked for new firefox Add-ons. Installing an add-on in firefox only takes a couple of clicks and a restart. Check out these two new ones.

1) PicLens is kinda amazing. The tool quickly scans the website your viewing for image files and presents them to you in a full screen "cover-flow" type interface if you've ever used iTunes. It essentially lets you preview a lot of images from any web-page in a cool full screen overlay.

When you visit a new page the tool will palce a little play button on an image, letting you start a new slide show. It makes google image searches a lot easier to manage... the interface just keeps adding the image results, so you never have to load a new page.

Anyway it's fun.

2) Speed Dial: This add-on opens a new tab loaded with thumbnail images for a 3 x 3 grid of web-pages (Check out the screen grab). After you first install it you'll get a black grid, just right click on each thumbnail and edit the url. It's almost like having a mini- iGoogle or MyYahoo start page with all your favorite sites.

For me this means I'll probably go down to only three starting tabs... one for google, yahoo, and speed dial (loaded with ESPN.com, this blog, my flickr pics, flickr contact pics, ectc).

Drop a comment if you've got a favorite add-on, or let me know how these work out for ya.
