Profiteering...

So I spent 7 hours in the cold outside Target with Ed waiting in line for a chance to buy a Nintendo Wii. Living in a capitalistic society often means there are winners and losers. Well, now I'm starting to feel like a regular Scrooge for depriving young children of holiday joy.

I placed an add on Craigslist for my Wii and a copy of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Based on the other adds and some final sales on E-bay $500 dollars seemed like a decent asking price (check out the add here). Feel free to pass on the add to anyone you feel may be interested and has the cash! If I don't get $500 before Christmas I'll just hold on to it. Anyway, check out this offer I received bellow... am I a Jerk or what?

Good Morning. I am in search of a Wii for my 11 year old son. I am only able to offer $350. I can pay cash. I know your asking price is $500 and I am sorry to have to offer you so much less....as I cannot afford to pay that price and still provide a nice Christmas for the rest of my family. Thank you for your consideration.

  1. Wii = 249.99
    Zelda = 49.99
    6.75% Tax = 20
    total =$320

    500-320 = $180 towards a new camera.

  2. I you take anything less than 500 hundred, I'll steal your new camera then smack you across the face with it. Tell Michelle aka Bob Cratchit to pick up a second shift at the local Denny's and then she can make a reasonable offer for her spoiled little brat. Erick why did you buy it in the first place? New Camera? or you could start a Salvation Army. I don't want to come off sounding like an Ebenezer, but the world needs Tiny Tims

  3. I'm not 100% sure why I got the Wii... waiting in line was more about "can I do it?" Everyone knows I'm a pretty big video game nerd, but I don't actually play a lot ton of video games, so just being a part of a video game launch (well shipment) was kinda cool. Ed and I had some liquid courage to carry us through the night as well.

    I'll be putting up an add on Ebay this Friday, craigslist doesn't have the "mind-share" that ebay does. So far I've only gotten two offers in two days.

    And when in doubt I'll hold on to it... I know Zelda could keep me happy until PS3s are easily available (sometime in spring?).

  4. If she wanted to save 150 junior bacon cheese burgers she would have stood in line for 7 hours like labia. She even has motivation. Erick did it without. He just did it with a large nutsack.
