This weekend sustains the party-school reputation that haunts Ohio University, where officials want to promote an image of academics — not alcohol.
Academics? Are they serious? Man I wish this graph went back a few more years. Click Title to read on!

Here are the stats I could come up with:
ReplyDelete1998 - 201 Arressts
1999 - 171 (only 11 were OU Kids)
2000 - 86 Arrests... Great quote -
Mayer says, "The only reason I see for why their was a decrease in the number of arrests was that there wasn't as many liquor enforcement agents in town this year, and therefore the number of underage consumption arrests were down."
2005 - another great quote -
Police responded to 14 fights and three assaults Saturday night and early Sunday, according to a Sunday morning news release. They also had to deal with a host of less serious incidents, including a report of an unknown man urinating in a woman's bedroom Friday night.
Holly Shit. With these new rules I would have been suspended for a quarter twice... the same quarter. I would have been kicked out for sure. So would just about every one of our friends.
ReplyDeleteDidn't Jimmy Stewart demand liquor agents start paying county taxes since they spend more time in his county than any other?
