Notre Dame’s basketball team has a 1 – 7 record in the Big East, losing the 7 games by a combined total of 17 points. What up with that Pat? Talk about some unlucky Micks. Their most recent loss was by one point against West Virginia, the only undefeated team in the conference. I recently read in Sports Illustrated that the Mountaineer’s star center, Kevin Pittsnogle (right), drives a 1995 light-blue Oldsmobile Aurora on 20 inch rims. And while most people can trace their last name’s origin to a country, I think it is safe to say that Mr. Pittsnogle can trace his to a state.
In Ohio, the #20 Buckeyes are smack dab in the middle of the pack at 4-3 in league play. Not bad, considering The Big Ten has seven teams in the top 20 of the RPI. And all of them play well at home. The septet of contenders is a combined 25-1 in its home arenas during conference play. I can’t wait till March.
