1917

That was the last time the White Sox won the World Series. But this year they are rolling. I just turned on 1000 AM, an ESPN radio station from Chicago that somehow comes through in Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati. El Duque entered the game in the bottom of the 6th with no outs, the bases loaded and clinging to a one run lead. He got the first two batters to pop out and struck out Johnny Damon to end the inning.

  1. 1948... that's when the Indians won their last one... maybe next year right? So If the white-sox win this game the series is over right? Right now they're up 5-3 at the top of the 9th... three outs away.

  2. Yeah, even the north-siders are cheering for the Sox in Chicago! A bank up the street from mine got robbed during game 2 while the security guard was watching the game in the break room.
