EPL goal keeper Brad Friedel (AKA Real life Frankenstein) - currently linked with a move from Blackburn Rovers to Newcastle UNied to hook up with his old boss - is scheduled to be in his native Ohio, USA on Friday 17th June, playing in a match to launch his own non-profit making football coaching initiative - Premier Soccer Academies.
Among those scheduled to participate as well as Friedel are former Magpies coach Derek Fazackerly, plus ex-toon players Barry Venison, Marc Hottiger, Andy Cole and Scott Sellars.
A look at the Premier Soccer Academies website reveals that former Newcastle player and "international football personality" John Barnes is involved, as is current United goalkeeping coach Roy Tunks.
I'll have to check this out... how cool would I be if I got my picture taken with Andy Cole in Ohio! Hopefully it's here in Columbus. How's McBride doing? He scored in a qualifyer against Panama... I'm starting to get pumped up for World Cup 06... you fancy Euros, Asians, Africans, South Amercains, Australasians are going down! Do you think Iraq will field a team?
