Stubs

Been a while since I've posted.  I really like the new post editor... how long has this been there?  To be honest facebook has taken away my blog visits.  My previous multiple checks of eglobao.blogspot.com have been replaced by facebook checks form my phone.

Anyway I got a multi function printer the other day and decided to finally scan a bunch of old documents.  Paper sucks and I plan to scan things more regularly to prevent the reams and reams of statements and bills from building up in the first place.  Not sure scanning is actually needed for half of these documents but for some reason I've been keeping the paper stuff "just in case" for a while.

Back to the point of this post... the images included are scans of a set of old concert ticket stubs I've been hanging onto "just in case" for a while.  Now that I've scanned them they can live on as 650KB files on some random hard drive backup instead of shoved in an old desk drawer.  Honestly I'll probably look at them more now that they've been digitized.

Enjoy the pictures... it would be great to augment these with ticket stubs from others.  There certainly was a run of tool concerts in the late 90s which is clearly underrepresented in this sample.  Check out the ozzfest stub signed by Lajon Witherspoon from Sevendust (who have gone on to do some big things).

Quick reminder new Chili pepper Album Comes out soon (stream the first single here).

Metallica.... This Sunday

Metallica is playing the Schott this Sunday, doors open at 7:00pm. They're playing in the round... so there shouldn't be a bad seat in the house... in fact I'd almost prefer a lower bowl seat than something on the floor... just so you can see all of the stage.

Tickets are $55 which really means $66 after fees. I decided to use up some vacation time so I'm taking the Monday after off (could be hard to work with the ringing in my head).

Anyway, talk amongst your selves... I'd like to buy the tickets Wednesday evening... I'll call around and see who's interested before pulling out the credit card.

Does anyone know if Gorman has tickets... maybe I should read his original post.

Rock on!

Oh yea and Jared watched them in Portland on Friday or Saturday... give us your impressions!

Audio Post #1

Plans for an audio blog-post have been kicking around in my head for a while and I finally put something together. What you will hear bellow is me rambling on for a few minutes, highlighting some of this weeks posts and discussing some stuff out on the horizon (like spring break). Please take a listen, it's only seven minutes of audio... if you can watch a youtube clip at work then you can listen to this.

Try out the flash player and let me know how / if it works for you. If you have a slow connection or would rather listen to the post off-line in a separate media player you can use the direct download link, just right click and save the .mp3 where ever you want.

Enjoy & Comment!!!

Winter Blogging Season

Note: This was written on Saturday Feb 17th

A major contributing factor to my reduced blogging levels over the past few months has been the Wifi outage at Staufs. Traci and I still manage to spend a couple of hours here on Saturdays, however with no Wifi I really haven't been able to access all of my blogging tools. It hasn't all been bad though, the lack of Wifi has forced me to re-mix some new tracks put together by Alex during December and January. Personally I think it's some of Alex's greatest lyrical work; if you remember his OU song back in the day, it's kinda like that but more mature and touches on all things Ohio. Here's a look at a possible cover... see if you can identify the significance of the individual pics.

Once I figure out a good way to distribute the audio I'll post some of the juiciest cuts here.

Alright, rather than overwhelm the short attention span that goes along with reading a blog... I will break up this post into a few smaller ones in the hopes that people will actually read and maybe even comment.

Bonnaroo June 14-17th

I think there are a few people here in P-town that are gonna go. I'll be one of them. This isn't set in stone (ha, I said stone), but I don't think were finding excuses to not go. Best line-up ever. Who's in?
