Ravens' 'O' needs a makeover

Being a former coach for 15 years I realize how much work goes into game planning for each opponent. The long hours of studying tape, statistical break downs, meetings and implementing the game plan in practice is extremely tough. So, I'm not big on dumping everything that the coaches and players have worked on throughout the offseason, pre season and thus far during the regular season, but drastic times may need drastic measures, especially when you are referring to the Baltimore Ravens' offense.

One of the most obvious problems with this offense is that the Ravens hardly make any explosive plays. Maybe it is the play calling or the inability of the Ravens' perimeter receivers to stretch deep zones, because both QBs Steve McNair and Kyle Boller have the arm strength to make the deep throws. Most explosive plays come through the air, but if and when, Baltimore loosens the defense up by passing the ball, featured running back Willis McGahee will be able to rip off more chunks of yards on the ground.

  1. A couple of weeks ago when the Browns were playing the Ravens a bunch of us were watching over at Jim's and rooting for Troy. Kyle Boller was playing his usual "ass" type of game and actually went down with an injury... but it wasn't to be.

I don't think Troy alone could really improve their offense anyway, but it couldn't hurt.
