Since returning from my GIS vacation (I had to check a bag due to the no liquid rules) I've been busy catching up with work and dealing with some wedding planning... in turn I haven't really made the time to catch up with people (that's what the blogg's for right?). So yea, how about a quick shout out... I'm looking in Seth and Pat's direction on this one.
G-man how was black hat? I heard about a big mac-book / general WiFi exploit where someone can hi-jack your machine in seconds. Oh yea and how was your golf outing at that insane course?
Seth, how was the concert? Can you wait another 30 years for him to go on a 5 city tour? Did you bring you camera... take any pictures at the game?
Rock on!
The concert was worth every dime. That one falls into the category of a once in a lifetime show. Of all the concerts I've seen this one sits behind only Floyd at the Shoe. Amazing writer and performer. He's not for everyone, but if you havn't had a taste you should give it a shot. I have one picture from the concert and one from the game. I'll tryu and get them up soon.
ReplyDeleteI guess if I'm shouted out, I'm obligated to offer a response. Black Hat (the "hacker" conference I was at in Vegas a couple weeks ago) was really "cool." And by "cool" I mean cool in the way that Nickleback is cool... which is to say, not cool at all.
ReplyDeleteIf there was one moral of the story it was: you can break into everything. And that's everything as in everything - cell phones, copiers, private Intranets, databases, web servers, RFID, Blackberrys, and on and on and on. You can even break into Microsoft's new Vista OS - which hasn't even been released yet. Defcon - the actual hacker conference (as evidenced by the mohawks, trenchcoats, tats, piercings, etc.) was crazy. Crazy like a fox. Lots of youngsters, beer drinking, and hacking games.. fortunately, we were only subjected to one day of that conference.
Vegas was a lot of fun too - I went from having played Hold 'em once to having played Hold 'em half a dozen times.. In theory I think I improved as the week went on, but if the proof is in the pudding, I lost as much the last night as I did the first. It was a lot of fun though, and afterall, that's all that counts.
