Old Boy is New man about Toon

Former Newcastle Defender Glenn Roeder has been confirmed as full-time manager of Newcastle on a two-year contract. The club decided to appoint Roeder after a successful spell in charge as caretaker boss following the departure of Graeme Souness.

Roeder told the club's official website, www.nufc.co.uk: "It's hard to describe how I feel at the moment. I know all about this club, having played here for almost six years and having captained the club. I'm an extremely lucky person to have been given this opportunity, and it is an opportunity I want to take."

Erick, if you recall this is the guy who was in charge of West Ham during their relegation form the EPL in that game we once watched while living in Maynard Ave. He has since went b'back to soccer school' and learned much-improved coaching techniques with both England and the Newcastle Youth team, whom he drastically improved. We'll wait and see what he does with Premiership players....

  1. That's right... he looks familiar, It seemed like WestHam were always on FSW back then. I just remember this guy always seeming frazzled and losing close matches at the end of the game. Most importantly I remember his pointy little chin.

I'm sure after a few years he's improved, Geordie Army Unite!
