It's Tourney Time Bitches!

Conference tournaments are heating up, and the selection committee is just about ready to select the chosen 64 (or is it 65 now?). Anyways, here are some players that could make some noise in the tournament. I did not include any Buckeyes b/c I figure we all know that they have plenty of talent and a legitimate shot at the Final Four.

Joakim Noah: Florida
The son of a Cameroonian ex-tennis pro and a former Miss Sweeden, Noah is a rare blend of strength and agility. He is just under 7’ and he runs the floor like a college guard. The Gators have a few other descendants of professional athletes on their team, look for them to make it past the Sweet Sixteen.

Carl Krauser: Pittsburgh
A street savvy baler from the Bronx, Krauser is much like a college version of Allen Iverson. He was one of the toughest players in a very physical Big East. He scores a lot, but he also shoots a lot. Watch how he works the refs and controls the tempo of the game.

Adam Morrison: Gonzaga
He’s a trigger from the Pacific North West who should beat J.J. Redick for the NCAA scoring title this year. He really can light teams up, averaging over 28 points while shooting 50% for the season. Gonzaga currently has an 18 game winning streak, and Morrison surely hopes to carry it into the Big Dance.

Pops Mensah Bonsu: George Washington
Born and raised in England, with parents from Africa, he has carried GW to one of its all time best records (26-1 and #6 nationally). However, Pops currently has a knee injury, if he does not come back by tourney time the Colonials will have trouble making it past the first or second round.

  1. nice work! I haven't followed college b-ball too closely this year so it's nice to learn about some players. I've seen morisson and he's a true baller, he looks so competetive out there, like every shot is his last... can't wait till the tourney starts... next week right?
