New Itunes Music

Here are a couple of CDs I've picked up from Itunes over the last couple of weeks... I'm a sucker for virtual transactions, its almost too easy to buy music now.

Spoon - Gimme Fiction: These guys have a good mellow, edgy, harmony, rock sound that's easy on the ears. They could probably become more of a main stream band with this album.

The Futureheads - The Futurheads: If you like the Clash, i.e. british garage rock chock full of harmonies then these guys might appeal to you. I caught them on the Jimmy Kimel show a couple of weeks ago and they put on a good show. Not sure if they're "Southern Fairies" or "Northern Monkeys".

System of a Down - Mezmerize: Jared convinced me to get this one. It's typical S.O.D. they rock out with their twisted Albanian Harmonies, heavy guitar riffing, and nonsensical chanting. Apparently they'll be releasing a follow up album in a month or so.

Common - Be: I've heard some of his stuff before, but this one's pretty good... Kanye West did a lot of the music and it's a solid, if short album.

  2. I just obtained a couple of Clash albums by putting them onto E's friend's iPod through my computer. I also got some other punk music such as the Ramones, Mike Ness, NoFX, Rancid, Social Distortion, and the Misfits to name a few. My favorite album name is Punk in Drublic. Switch the first letters and you come up with an average weekend for me.

Isn't System of a Down from Armenia, not Albania? Anyways, I like their old stuff that I've heard and I'd like to burn a copy of that CD from you the next time I get a chance.

  3. Yea, Armenia... that's the place... it's close to Iraq and shares borders with Iran and Turkey. Albania is on the Mediteranian... anyhoo. I'll bring a copy for you to el-roast-o. Word! The misfits rule... where eagles dare and skulls were some of the early songs I learned on guitar.
