I just wanted to try to post a picture from flickr so that I would know how to do it. Anyways, here's a shot of one of those "human statues" that you see in The Big Easy. It was taken the week after Mardi Gras 2003.
I like the picture a lot. I'm thinking I might have to start pushing people to flickr even more than I tried to switch people to firefox!
It's great just clicking on recent updates and watching new pictures that people around the world have posted. Once you find a cool looking photo you can add it to your favorites and find out what the original photographer likes... there are some serious photo-masters out there (usually people with a pro account).
-The tags are also real "temporal" i.e. you can see spikes / trends in what kinda pictures people are posting. For example a bunch of people recently posted pictures from the "Cochella" Music Festival.
Place names are also a good tag. I found pictures taken at the home town (tamil nadu state) of an Indian friend/co-worker's of mine in about 2 seconds.
I've been tagging pics with people nicknames... for example you can pull up every picutre with thebrit or hastie in it.
