Oh Dear! Once again the great Name of Newcastle United Football Club is dragged through the mud. Click here to see a video of two Newcastle team mates (Keiron Dyer and Lee Boywer) beating seven shades of shit out of one another....ON THE PITCH!
Then here is a video of the two of them apologising to the media and the fans (top right of the page).
Allegedly (!) Boywer made was mad at dyer for refusing to pass to him throughout the game and made a racist comment. Boywer has a history of this kind of thing as he was charged with assualt in 2001 following the beating up of an asian student while he was playing for Leeds Utd. Nice guy....
That's pretty fucked up. Is selling a player the same thing as trading a player?
ReplyDeleteThat was some crazy shit!?! I can't remember ever seeing two guys on the same team fight each other in any sport. We had the pistons/pacers vs fans, but I can't think of a teammate on teammate rumble. In my mind, the rumble tells you a lot about Newcastle... they need a new manager! I know he's only been there a few months but what has he accomplished? He gets belamay to say some stupid stuff and sends him packing. Belamy clearly needs to play up front, its his best position. And now his own players are fighting each other... I loved his post game commentary... how can he say this means nothing? He has no control over his players... I can only imagine the conversation over at the bird's inn (what was the pub by your place?). What's your dad's take on the whole thing?
ReplyDeleteFrom my FIFA video game/soccer coaching experience they should have kept belamy up front with shearer, and had Ameoby play an attacking center-mid type role (not exactly three up front but you know what I mean). Shearer and belamy could cover for him when he goes off doing what he does best (score freakishly cool goals that come out of no where).
Sorry for the late response, I had a major deadline today so I had to 'get in the zone'... my blog could not be held up for long though... so excuse the long winded comment.
