I had a blast yesterday! The sun finally came out (still wasn't warm though) and I decided to go topless for the first time this year. Who knows what 'Hadrians Wall' is? It's what historically divided England from Scotland. The northern most county in England is Northumberland, next to Tyne & Wear where i live. Northumberland is the least densely populated County in England. It has its own National Park, its own flag, its own tartan and its own dialect with more castles open to the public than any other county - a relic of the long and bloody conflicts fought against the Scots. The Romans were the first to try to cut off the Scottish barbarians by building Hadrian's Wall - much of its 73 mile length still remains and something called the 'military road' runs parallel to it. It's mostly straight (bless those romans!) but winds up peak and down dale. the scenery is beautiful, I wish i'd thought to do this when E-lo was here.
However the best thing about it is that for those in the know, it's the prettiest 73 mile drag strip in the country! I wasn't sure how to get ther euntil i spotted i souped up Honda s-2000 and followed him. Once we hit 'the road' he was gone....off into a 120mph cloud of dust! The were numerous bikers, on they japanese fireblades and some gorgeously fast and furious suburu's and mitsubishi evo's....no detroit iron here. I spotted some old in a mint condition triumph tr6 and he and i blasted along with our roof's down letting the japanese rockets overtake us at their pleasure. you can't keep up with those boys.
Below are some photo's of the scenery. i didn't have a camera to take pic's of me, but may go back in the summer and photo some of the classic british sports car that use it as an improptu meet. Posted by Hello

  1. Wow, thanks for keep'n it real and informing us on English History (Everything there is "so old!"). I bet you had a blast tooling around with the top down and the your turbo kick'n. And I'd love to see pictures of the other brit's and their fast'n'furious-mobiles.

Traci and I went to the Columbus Auto show yesterday. I'll probably post some pictures from there tonight. Ford had a couple of their new concepts there... the GT40 and the Shelby Cobra. We also saw a Lotus Elise, Lamborghini Gallardo, Hummer H3, and Dodge Charger.

What was wrong with the Scottish people... i.e. why did the Romans feel compelled to build a 20ft high across all of England to keep them away? I mean how long did it take to make the wall and how many people died building it? I guess I have these same questions about the "great wall-o-china".
