English Premiership Debut

Our next game is a 3pm kickoff on Saturday.
Elo is to make his debut agains Southampton
Team News
NUFC: To follow....Shearer set for return from injury against one of his former clubs, Butt and Kluivert still recovering, Carr knee causing concern, Bernard available after suspension, Babayaro and Boumsong expected to make league debuts for United.

SFC: To follow...doubts over Fabrice Fernandes, Anders Svensson and Jason Dodd. Missing are Graeme Le Saux, Jelle van Damme, Marian Pahars and Michael Svensson.

New faces in for the Saints include one-time alleged toon target Calum Davenport who is on loan from Spurs, plus 'Arry's lad Jamie Redknapp.

Nasty Ex-mackem rat boy Phillips has scored four in his last three games.

Referee: Uriah Rennie (shown above) - last spotted when he replaced injured Matt Messias for the final few minutes of the Boxing Day game at Blackburn.

If we are to beat Southampton, then we'll bring to an end a terrible run of games in which this self-professed Shearer hater has officiated.

One has to go back to February 1999 and a 1-0 win at Leeds to find the last victory in a Newcastle game presided over by Rennie.

Since then we've endured eight defeats and one draw in the nine games to date.

TV: Not live in the UK, but being beamed out live on:

  1. This is good back story... without Sky Sports News My Premiere League knowledge has declined. It will be great to see Shearer in the flesh. Too Bad Kluivert is out... maybe we can sneak on to the pitch for a photo opportunity.
